Nail Polish Made with Pigment!!!

Homemade Nail Polish!

What you need:
Pigment (not eyeshadow!!!)
Clear Nail Polish
Popsicle stick for mixing
Plastic egg carton or any container you don't care about anymore

So, here are my pigments. The only ones I own are a gold and a silver from MAC.

^ Here's the supplies ^

Pour some polish into your egg carton/palette and mix in some pigment.

Use an old nail polish brush to paint your nail. Once it's dry, finish it off with a top coat.

So, why can't you use eye shadow??? Well eye shadow and pigment have some subtle differences, one being that pigment is a finer powder than eye shadow. So, if you mix the eye shadow and nail polish together, and you paint it on your nail, it will come out lumpy and gross.

Also, as you can see above, the original eye shadow color that I used is a light neon blue. (I love wearing btw!) When mixed with the nail polish, however, it darkens up and doesn't look like the original color anymore.
So.... another difference between a pigment and an eye shadow is that pigments are far more concentrated in color. Eye shadows are mixed with powder because they are used to blend and be layered, so it makes sense that it would be less concentrated. Pigments react way better when mixed with mixing mediums, water, creme, moisturizer, hair gel, etc. With pigments, the possibilities are endless!
